MIAMI – October 22, 2012 – Norwegian Cruise Line announced today that the line’s newest ship, Norwegian Getaway, is now open for sale to the public. Starting February 1, 2014, the ship sails seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises year-round from PortMiami
Norwegian Getaway will be the largest ship to home port year-round in Miami, carrying 4,000 guests, and will embody a unique Miami vibe. Each week, Norwegian Getaway will transport cruisers to tropical Caribbean destinations including Philipsburg, St. Maarten; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and Nassau, Bahamas.
Currently being built at Meyer Werft in Germany, Norwegian Getaway will be 146,600 gross tons and offer a wide range of accommodations including The Haven by Norwegian, comprised of 42 Suites at the top of the ship in an exclusive, private key-card enclave and 22 additional Suites located throughout the ship; the innovative Studios, designed and priced for solo travelers; a wide range of Oceanview staterooms, Balcony and Mini-Suites; along with Spa Balcony, Mini-Suites and Suites in close proximity to the spa. Norwegian Getaway’s sister ship, Norwegian Breakaway, will begin sailing from her year-round home port of New York City in May 2013.

MIAMI – October 22, 2012 – Tonight, Norwegian Cruise Line will cook up some of its incredible culinary creations for an exclusive group of influential social media foodies as host of the weekly international #FoodieChats Twitter chat live from the company’s brand new, state-of-the-art test kitchen at its Miami headquarters.
The #FoodieChats Twitter chat takes place every Monday at 8pm EST and is extremely successful in generating buzz and creating conversations around the very popular topic of food.
