NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY BRINGS THE TASTE OF NEW YORK TO SEA WITH SABRETT HOT DOGS & BROOKLYN LAGER

NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY BRINGS THE TASTE OF NEW YORK TO SEA WITH SABRETT HOT DOGS & BROOKLYN LAGER

MIAMI – November 26, 2012 – Norwegian Cruise Line announced today two more New York-inspired food and beverage offerings onboard Norwegian Breakaway, the line’s newest ship: Sabrett Hot Dogs and Brooklyn Lager beer. Further enhancing the ship’s ties to New York City, its year-round homeport, these newly-announced offerings provide guests with a taste of the Big Apple at sea.

Located on the Waterfront, pool deck and forward deck, three Sabrett hot dog carts will sport the brand’s iconic yellow and blue umbrellas and offer up the same all-beef frankfurters that New Yorkers have voted the #1 hot dog for more than 50 years, renowned for the famous snap! of their natural casing. The carts on Norwegian Breakaway will also include the company’s famous condiments, including mustard, sauerkraut, relish, and onions in a delicious tomato sauce, so guests can order their complimentary Sabrett hot dog “all the way” (complete with all the toppings).

“As a New Yorker, I’ve been a fan of Sabrett’s. Since we are launching New York’s ship, it made complete sense to bring New York’s favorite hot dog to Norwegian Breakaway,” said Kevin Sheehan, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. “With Sabrett hot dogs and Brooklyn Lager beer, our guests will truly get a real taste of the city as a part of their whole New York experience while onboard.”

“Sabrett is a New York institution, offering our famous all-beef frankfurters to New Yorkers for half a century,” said Mark Rosen, vice president of Sabrett. “We’re so excited to offer our hot dogs on board Norwegian Breakaway and look forward to welcoming New York’s ship to the Sabrett family.”

New York’s award-winning Brooklyn Brewery’s Brooklyn Lager beer will also be offered on Norwegian Breakaway in Uptown Bar & Grill. Lager beer in the “Vienna” style, Brooklyn Lager’s amber-gold color and firm malt center are supported by a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping”, the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold maturation. The result is a wonderfully flavorful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food.

Norwegian Breakaway

The 4,000 passenger Norwegian Breakaway will arrive in her year-round homeport of New York City in early May 2013. The ship will begin weekly summer seven-day cruises to Bermuda on Sunday, May 12, 2013. To date, the company has revealed the ship’s groundbreaking design, including The Waterfront and 678 Ocean Place; a wide range of indoor and outdoor venues on three dynamic decks that will create a whole new complex at sea that enhances guests’ connection with the ocean. Norwegian Breakaway’s entertainment will include three Broadway shows: five-time Tony nominated ROCK OF AGES; the dance sensation BURN THE FLOOR; and CIRQUE DREAMS & DINNER JUNGLE FANTASY. The famed comedy troupe The Second City, Howl at the Moon dueling pianos, and New York’s own Slam Allen will also perform on the vessel. Celebrity Chef and Food Network star Geoffrey Zakarian will also debut his first restaurant at sea on Norwegian Breakaway: Ocean Blue by Geoffrey Zakarian.

The top decks of Norwegian Breakaway will feature the first Aqua Park at sea with five full-size water slides, including twin Free Fall slides, the first ever at sea, and a three-story sports complex that includes the largest ropes course at sea, a nine-hole miniature golf course, basketball court, rock climbing wall and more.

The ship will also feature a rich mix of stateroom options including The Haven by Norwegian, comprised of 42 Suites at the top of the ship and 18 additional Suites located throughout the ship; the innovative Studios, designed and priced for solo travelers; the re-introduction of Oceanview staterooms, Balcony and Mini-Suites; along with Spa Balcony, Mini- Suites and Suites in close proximity to the spa.

PRIDE OF AMERICA FARES TO INCREASE IN 2013

PRIDE OF AMERICA FARES TO INCREASE IN 2013

Pride of America sails past the Nãpali Coast in Hawai`i.

MIAMI – November 8, 2012 – Norwegian Cruise Line today announced that based on strong demand for its Hawai`i cruise, it will raise fares an average of 10 percent on Pride of America for new bookings beginning January 1, 2013. The only large US-flagged cruise ship, Pride of America sails year-round from Honolulu on a spectacular seven-day inter-island Hawai`i cruise, featuring close to 100 hours in port and overnights in both Maui and Kaua`i. Ports of call include Kahului, Maui; Hilo, Hawai`i; Kona, Hawai`i; Nãwiliwili, Kaua`i; and an afternoon cruise past the breathtaking Nãpali Coast. This cruise was recently voted the “Best Hawai`i” itinerary by Porthole Cruise Magazine in their 13th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

“Because she is US-flagged and crewed, Pride of America is in the unique position of being the only cruise ship that can sail to the four islands of Hawai`i from Honolulu without visiting a foreign port,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “As a result of this unique offering, there is strong, ongoing demand for the ship, propelled by record-breaking guest satisfaction scores. This is a spectacular one-of-a-kind itinerary and the cruise delivers an incredible value for the money compared to the high cost of land-based vacations in Hawai`i.”

As her name implies, the 2,124-passenger Pride of America, celebrates a ‘Best of America’ theme inspired by favorite places in the United States. From the Capitol Atrium to the Alaska-influenced Gold Rush Pub to a New Orleans’ Mardi Gras Cabaret Lounge and Hawai`i-themed Aloha Café and Waikiki Bars, guests experience the flavor of the U.S. while visiting the country’s beautiful 50th state. The ship features 14 restaurants, nine bars and lounges, dynamic public rooms such as the Hollywood Theater, expansive children’s area featuring Norwegian’s new Splash Academy children’s programs and the state-of-the-art Santa Fe Spa & Fitness Center. The heart of the ship, the Capitol Atrium, is inspired by the Capitol Building and White House and features a decorative stone floor and a stunning backlit glass dome.

The company also recently announced that Pride of America will receive major enhancements beginning in March 2013, including the addition of 24 ultra-luxurious suites, four Studio staterooms and four inside staterooms; Moderno Churrascaria, the line’s signature Brazilian-style steakhouse; ship wide wireless internet connectivity; new carpeting throughout; flat screen televisions in all staterooms; updated décor; upgrades to the fitness center; new directional signage; renovations to the gift shop, photo gallery and art gallery; and much more.
